Williams-Sonoma Home gives Silicon Valley a second chance with a new location at the Stanford Shopping Center.

Williams-Sonoma Home’s Somerset teak dining table ($1,995) and chairs ($450) pair well with the Manchester armchair ($495).

In 2009, Williams-Sonoma Home opened an expansive outpost at Stanford Shopping Center, only to shutter it a couple of years later.

Recently, though, the San Francisco–based retailer has dipped its toes back into the interior design market in Palo Alto: A section of the kitchen-centric Williams-Sonoma location at Stanford is now devoted to its Home collection, which includes relaxed yet refined furnishings and accessories.

“We wanted to provide the opportunity for customers to experience our products firsthand—see our beautiful furniture finishes, our large selection of fabrics and leathers that are available for custom upholstery, and our beautiful bed linens,” says Monica Bhargava, executive vice president of product development for Williams-Sonoma Home. She adds, “Since relaunching the Williams-Sonoma Home brand in 2013, we have seen a fantastic response. Retail expansion is a current strategy to increase customer base and grow consumer awareness.”

The merchandise will change seasonally; for example, for late spring and summer, the store will showcase outdoor pieces such as the Somerset extendable teak dining table.
