Some of golf’s biggest stars wowed over thousands of spectators at the Sony Open in Hawaii, one of the most international events on the PGA Tour schedule.
THE PARTY A handful of select VIP guests flocked to the exclusive The Kahala Hotel & Resort Skybox at Sony Open to enjoy unbeatable views of the final playing hole at the prestigious Waialae Country Club, the host of the international event, which is a FedExCup tournament. THE GUESTS High-profile attendees included entertainers Kimo Kahoano and Danny Kaleikini, model and waterman Austin Kino, and a host of socialites. THE HIGHLIGHTS With the sun beating down on the undulating greens, the elevated private seating provided the perfect perch for experiencing this year’s tourney, where 23-year-old winner Justin Thomas became the seventh player in PGA Tour history to shoot a 59. For guests to keep cool in the heat, Evian Mineral Water Spray bottles—not to mention cocktails and cold brews—were generously provided. Of course, all the gameplay worked up guests’ appetites, so the menu over the four-day event featured a succulent rotation of poke, fresh sashimi and sushi. It was a delectable way to take in all the excitement -Nuy Cho
