“The warm atmosphere at Le Coucou restaurant designed by Roman and Williams, located inside the hotel 11 Howard has the energy and intimacy of being at a great dinner party in a friend’s home.”

“I keep a stash of Cire Trudon candles in each of my houses. The moss- green glass containers blend in perfectly wherever they are placed and, most importantly, are completely natural and long-burning.” Manon classic candle, $95, by Cire Trudon at Saks Fifth Avenue, 2446 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix

“I am drawn to the sensuous materials and forward-thinking design of 1970s furniture. The leather seating from this period is seriously sexy!” Fabricius and Kastholm Scimitar chair, $9,500, 1stdibs.com

“My 14,000-square-foot Georgian-style mansion in Tuxedo Park, N.Y., [is] located just 30 minutes north of the George Washington Bridge, but you feel like you are in a different world. Having a home in Tuxedo Park is like owning part of a great camp. The house we live in was built in 1900 by American architect John Russell Pope, and is situated on nearly 120 acres overlooking Tuxedo Lake and backs up to the protected lands of Sterling Forest [State Park].”

Turning his eye to the art market, 1stdibs founder Michael Bruno returns to the design industry with the launch of Art-Design-Carta, a private marketplace for art and design professionals. The site serves dealers wanting to share their latest discovery, as well as independent artists who wish to offer trade pricing. The invitation-only site is open to architects and designers, and lists the gallery and to-the-trade prices. We checked in with the Hudson Valley-based wonder—who also recently launched Tuxedo Hudson Company to revitalize the region—on how he leads his design-filled life.
