Tony Duquette—the original high-low, fantasy-trafficking mix master—will have the components of his “Tent Room” auctioned as the centerpiece of Bonhams & Butterfields’ annual 20th Century Decorative Arts sale on October 5. The over-the-top space (think Indian peacock metal chairs) was co-designed with longtime collaborator Hutton Wilkinson for a Santa Barbara couple in the late ’90s. In the days leading up to the event, the auction house will install the room for an on-site preview. read more
